2009 Power Plant Shoot Out

Hi there all you Bass Casters!

     First of all, let me say that all our prayers and best wishes go out to our young member, Matt (Dillon) Jahner, who has been battling cancer.  We can't wait for you to get back in a boat Matt.   

     Well, the Badlands Bass Bandits held it's first tournament of the year on Nelson Lake, on May 9th.  It was a breezy, cool day.  It was only in the 40's most of the day.  There were 17 brave soles that couldn't wait to get out for the first tournament, cold and windy or not.  Our very own 'Bass Princess' (Janine Wetzel) took 1st Place and Big Fish, with a 3 fish overall weight of 9.86 lbs. and a big bass that weighed in at 5.55 lbs.   Janine is a spectacular fisherman (fisherwoman or whatever I'm supposed to say) and has earned the respect of all the club members.  Great job Janine.  Jeff Wetzel came in 2nd Place with a weight of 8.90 lbs. and I (Terry Piper) came in 3rd Place with a weight of 8.31 lbs.  A total of 22 fish were weighed and safely released to catch another day.  We'd like to thank all of those dedicated members that came from South Dakota and Crosby, ND and all over ND.  Your support and participation is what keeps the club and the sport of Bass Fishing going.  Keep on fishing.
